Duties of the Abolition Hall Steering Committee

The purpose of the Abolition Hall Steering Committee is to make recommendations to the Township Board of Supervisors related to the use of Abolition Hall, the Main House, and the surrounding grounds to ensure long-term sustainability and public use of the buildings and grounds while preserving the rich history of the property.  The Steering Committee will assist in the planning and facilitation of the uses and operations of Abolition Hall and the Main House to ensure the Township's compliance with the Grant Agreement with the Karabots Foundation, thereby fostering recreational and educational programs for diverse groups of people, including underserved and disadvantaged youths.  The Steering Committee shall also assist the Township in identifying, advancing, and promoting opportunities to secure funding to preserve, improve, and enhance Abolition Hall so the Township's commitment and vision for the property can be fulfilled.
